Barry Marsden Memorial Award

The Honourable Company of Air Pilots has awarded the 442 Transport & Rescue Squadron Royal Canadian Air Force the first Barry Marsden Memorial Award for their mass evacuation response needed during the landslides near Agassiz in November 2021. “The outstanding performance and contribution of 442 Sqn in this time of exceptional distress, contributing to the preservation of life during a natural disaster, is thoroughly deserving of recognition by award of the Barry Marsden Memorial Award.”  The Barry Marsden Memorial Award is awarded to individuals, crews or organizations that contribute to preserving life during natural disasters. Barry had dedicated his life to protecting the world from wildfires and would have been honoured to be commemorated with this group of dedicated and courageous individuals.   Read more…
