Shawn BethelDirector, International Business Development
Shawn joined Conair in April 2017 as Director, International Business Development to support the executive team in implementing strategies and initiatives to develop business growth opportunities for Conair in international markets.
Shawn previously worked with the British Columbia Forest Service, Wildfire Protection Program for 21 years. He began his career as a wildland firefighter, helicopter operations technician and hoist operator with the British Columbia Forest Service rappel crews. Shawn later became a provincial fire control officer. He also performed other operational functions such as resource management, logistics/planning, fire behaviour analysis and served with Incident Management Teams on large fire complexes.
For 10 years, Shawn was Manager of the International Development Program for the British Columbia Forest Service and provided training and consulting services to international fire/land management agencies. Shawn was project manager on two separate fire management projects in Argentina and Malaysia respectively. Shawn was also responsible for interagency resource sharing agreements between British Columbia and USA, Australia and Mexico. In late 2007, Shawn joined SEI Industries Ltd. to lead their Aerial Firefighting, Bambi Bucket Division where he managed sales, marketing and engineering teams engaged in aerial firefighting and fire ignition markets globally.
Shawn is fluent in English and Spanish language with limited Portuguese. He is proud to work at Conair and share his international business development and wildland firefighting experience to support Conair’s vision to provide innovative, exceptional aerial firefighting services to customers and their communities.
